Reynin Chics was privately purchased as a two-year-old off her breeder, Hugh Miles. At the time, Drew and Sally were in search of another Millionnic Chic mare and were instantly drawn to Reynin Chics as a replacement for a mare they had recently lost, coincidentally just after Hugh Miles had also lost Millionnic himself. They were captivated by her strong pedigree and natural ability, recognising her potential both as a high-performing campdraft mare and a foundation broodmare for Benalla Stud. She is out of an important Dual Rey mare, Reyn On Me, whose progeny include numerous highly successful performing and producing horses throughout Australia, including PCD Reyning Metal and Reymance.
Following her purchase, Reynin Chics stayed with Hugh Miles for 18 months, receiving a solid foundation of training to prepare her for the Snafflebit Futurity in 2021. Due to the unfortunate cancellation of shows during the COVID period, the futurity did not proceed, but her program with Hugh continued, allowing her to continue to develope a solid cutting foundation to contribute to a successful campdraft career. Since then, she has delivered standout performances, including Reserve Champion at the NCHA Snafflebit Futurity in Scone with Drew, and 1st in the Open Draft at Tamworth in November 2023 with Sally.
To date, Reynin Chics has produced a three-year-old filly and two yearling fillies, all sired by Al Capone. She was also embryo-transferred to Conmoon as a two-year-old, producing a colt foal that was gelded and sold privately as a green-broken sale prospect, later selling through the Nutrien Tamworth Sale for $30,000. Currently, Reynin Chics is carrying a foal naturally to Sweet Talker, one of Benalla Stud’s home sires, and after this foal is raised and weaned, she will return to her consistent role as Sally’s open campdraft mare for the next competition season.
Reynin Chics’ strengths lie in her consistency, athleticism, and natural ability in the yard, along with her exceptional campdrafting instincts outside. Her foundation, genetics, and performance results have made her an invaluable mare for Benalla Stud, and while the prospect of selling her progeny is slim, exceptional offers could always be considered.
